ODS Big One

09/20/2008 - The ODS Big One at Old Dominion Speedway. It felt great to be back out at the track for an opportunity to shoot some stock car action. The ODS Big One is the longest race of the year at the famed speedway and a good late model turnout made for some exciting action. The main event was complemented by some exciting sprint car action and the always popular UCAR class.

Old Dominion Speedway Practice Sessions

07/19/2008 - Photos taken during pre-race practice sessions at Old Dominion Speedway. These photos were part of an experiment to test the focusing ability of the Mark III. It looks like for head an high speed shots that the center point works a lot better than multi-point. Also, focus is affected by the color of the vehicle with particular problems with all black cars.

Old Dominion Speedway Practice Session

05/17/2008 - Check out these photos shot on the oval track at Old Dominion Speedway. This is the first chance that I have had to shoot on the oval track in a while and it is evident that I am pretty rusty. I am trying to get my timing back for the World of Outlaw races next week and I think that I remembered why I like to shoot with a longer lens from a higher vantage point. Thanks to Steve Britt for letting me shoot on Saturday.
